What is the nature of the presence?
How is it felt?
The great
followers answered that if the Mureed is able to look at his heart
realize internally that he is close to Allah, praise be to Him,
then this is the presence even if this case is temporary. This
presence may weaken according to his occupation in earning his
living.
Thus
if the presence becomes as if “Looking at Aim” at any time,
condition, speaking and speechless, pleasures and anger and it
becomes the authority, this case is called “The Permanent
Awareness” or “The Permanent Remembrance”. This is one of
the bases of the Naqshbandia course. These attempts continue since
he is rapture by his vision, seeing and watching. He may feel in
this case that he is looking by his sight not by his vision
overcome by the presence situation and he may utter expression
which mean setting and uniting, but in reality he is in a presence
case and what he is uttering must be considered excess – out of
control. After being back and informed what he said, he won’t
believe as a drunker after being awakened. This vision resembles
the dream, but it’s a distinguished one.
It’s
incredible for any to see Allah with his sight, so if one hears
unbelievable words from a raptured, immediately he should know
that it’s the raptured’s words and his feelings not the
reality.
Sheikh Abed
Allah Dahlawie said “After the certitude is over comes the
connection watching. As Allah praise be to Him said “Wahuwa
Maakum Aynama Kuntum”. Means: He is with you whenever you are.
Alhadid Chapter – verse 4. Here the vocal invocation becomes
allowed. This kind of closeness belongs to the smallest state, the
first step for the –Awleya – Masters and Tutors. It’s the
crossing distance in the shade of Asmaa Allah. The Sacred Alames
of Allah. This rank is called the “Rapturous Rank”. Where he
gains the feeling of blessing, the beating, the longing, the
crying, the tasting, Attawheed, (declaring the uniqueness of
Allah), the shining prevailing of Allah light and the seeing of
the londiness and the numerous; the friendly and the passionate
love conditions, the solitude and the bewilderment. This is all
obvious for the leaders of the state. Even the absorption in the
knowledge sea is achieved here where the follower disconnects all
his human relationships, forgets all except Allah, and elevates
his heart from the wicked suggestions of Saton. Here in the
supremacy state the heart perishes and the spiritual absorption
ever lasts.
A poet describes this step saying:
When will I disjoin myself
No one else exists, except you and I
Allah is the Eternal
This is “The connection State” or “The Connection Watching”.
Quraan says:
“Wanahnu Akrabu Ilayhe Mon Hable AlWareed” Means: Allah is
closer to his worshiper than his great vein in his neck.
The Muslim due
to his purified innerself feels this closeness, and in reality
every Muslim is close to Allah, but the purified one feels it
where as the unpurified one doesn’t.
Sheikh Abed
Allah spoke about four kinds of perishing:
1- The existence perishing: Not to fear or plead any except
Allah.
2- The desire perishing: The follower just longs to be close
to Him, praise be to Him.
3- The will perishing: The follower becomes as a dead one
demands nothing.
4- The action perishing: He looses the ability to perform any
act; He demands only from his creator. In other words, when his
physical ability perishes, God takes his turn. This is the meaning
of the sacred saying by Allah. “Ma Yazal Abdee Yatakarrabu Ilaya
Bennawafel Hatta Ohibbuhu, Faetha Ahbabtuhu Kuntu Sam’ahu
Allathee Yasmào Behe, Waba sarouhu Allathee Yubseru Behee,
Wayadahu Allatee Yabtushu Beha”. This means: My man have been
getting closer to role with his Nawafel – extra – worshipping
deeds – till I love him. When I really love him, I’ll become
his hearing sense by which he hears, his sight sense by which he
sees, and his hand by which he beats.
Naqshbandia men
say that the supremacy rank is consists of ten ranks:

2- Coming back to Allah

7- Thank

3- Devotion
|
8- Dependence
|
|
4- Contentment
|
9- Admission
|
|
5- Piety
|
10- Satisfaction
|
They also
declared that the supremacy rank and the perishing of the heart
aren’t enough characteristics for the Sheikh to be tutor. This
couldn’t be attained unless the self perishes to achieve the
perfection of the great supremacy to be a true tutor.
When the heart
perishes, the thoughts and the wicked suggestions settle in the
self. When the self in the forehead perishes, no where remains for
those wicked thoughts to settle. These steps crossed by the
follower during his journey to Allah, praise be to Him, from the
initial step till the one known only by Him, may be felt by the
follower; these steps are compared to circles combining all the
Lataef – gifts, and tendencies, introduced by the out of space
circle and ended by The Out of Determination Circle. These circles
are twenty. Some said “If the lover’s check is unveiled,
another veil one appears, if a veil is removed another one
stands”.
Imam Rabbani
talked in his pamphlets and Sheikh Abed Allah Dahlawie said in his
book “The Clarification of the Course” about these circles.
The circles is a figurative name since it resembles the real
circles. This is clear for the Naqshbandia followers.
First, the
follower has to cross the out of space circle. It’s the creation
world, the Demand and the Ascending through purifying this world.
It’s the purification of the five Lataef, the self Latefa, the
four elements and the nature of the body. If he completed the
crossing of these circles through the purification, he then is
beyond the out of space circles and is reached the second. The
small supremacy, The Supremacy of Al Awleyaa, the guardians. Here
begins the travel and the Ascend towards the longed summit below
the shade of the names of Allah -Asmaa Allah- and the traits. Here in this settlement the
beginning of the real perishing is achieved. The rapture is one of
its fruits.
After the
Ascend from the previous circle through walking spiritually in the
shade of Allah names, this is considered as the beginning in the
great supremacy, originally exclusive to the prophets and
messengers, may God have mercy and bless upon them all, and their
companions gradually.
Those who have
reached these circles, have exceeded the self-perishing rank. The
self perishing and the heart perishing different from the
purification of the heart or the self. The purification is just
for the beginning for the preparation of the heart nothing else.
The perishing of the Lataef is considered the highest step.
The Great supremacy circle has three circles and a bow, a
half, the follower feels it and has to exceed it one after the
other strongly and mainly. Similar to a passer in a mountain or a
descent. The follower himself knows where he is. This passing
procedure takes place observed by the Names and Traits of Allah.
The follower’s harvest in this circle is the True perishing, The
True Islam, The Delight. It’s the permanent thanks and
satisfaction rank.
